PRE-CARE
& contraindications
Every result begins with preparation. Skin is living tissue—its condition determines how pigment heals, settles, and lasts. Below are standard pre-care instructions. DCPC may customize your instructions after medical intake is evaluated. Please read carefully before booking, and before your appointment.-
18+ with valid photo ID
Not be pregnant or nursing
Arrive sober and clear-minded (do not book/arrive under the influence of alcohol, recreational drugs, or any medication/substance that significantly alters judgment)

Medical clearance may be required (and you may be deferred) if you have:
Diabetes (Type I or II)
Autoimmune disorders or immunosuppressant medication use
Bleeding disorders or clotting conditions
Active skin irritation near the brow area (eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, infection, acne, open lesions)
Accutane/isotretinoin use within the past 12 months
History of keloid scarring or poor wound healing
Recent Botox, chemical peel, microneedling, or laser near the brow area (wait at least 4 weeks)
If you arrive with undisclosed information that makes the procedure unsafe or inappropriate to perform that day, your appointment may be converted to a consultation/design-only visit or rescheduled at the artist’s discretion. Deposits are non-refundable.

Stop retinol, glycolic acids, exfoliating acids, clay masks, or aggressive skincare on/around the brows
Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or microneedling near the brow area
No tanning or intense sun exposure (sunburned skin cannot be tattooed)
Limit alcohol and keep skincare consistent (no new products)
If safe, and cleared by your physician, avoid fish oil and “blood-thinning” supplements, herbs, & food (including ginkgo, turmeric, ginger, garlic)

Avoid alcohol
Avoid aspirin and ibuprofen (unless prescribed—ask first)
Avoid strenuous exercise, sauna, or steam
Prioritize hydration & sleep (calm skin retains best)

Avoid caffeine and stimulants (including energy drinks and pre-workout). If you take prescribed ADHD medication, do not stop without your prescriber’s approval—notify me so I can plan appropriately.
No exercise or strenuous activity.
Wash your hair before your visit (brows must stay dry for 7–10 days post-procedure).
Arrive with clean skin: no makeup, sunscreen, or moisturizer on the brow area.
Eat a light meal 1 hour prior to maintain steady blood sugar.
